Mr Hassan is currently president of BLA UK, and is the Principal of Law firm MQ Hassan Solicitors.
Family Life
Mr Hassan was born in the Jessore town in Jessore district Bangladesh. His father late Advocate Mohammed Abul Hossain was a renowned lawyer in the Jessore District Bar, Jessore Bangladesh. Mr Hassan first began practicing law with his father infamous for his commitment, sincerity and honesty. He adopted this ideology within his own practice and the success he has gained from being the lawyer he is today, he owes to his father. His Brother in Law Ahsanul Karim, Senior Advocate of Bangladesh Supreme Court, is a prominent and distinguished lawyer Internationally and Nationally. His brother Advocate Mahmud Hossain, Jessore District Bar Association is a practicing Lawyer. Having seen their passion and felt the amazement of the mechanism of the legal system he decided to pursue a career for himself.
Academic Qualification
Mr Hassan has always been a first Class enthusiastic student. He received first division in SSC and HSC in Bangladesh and his brilliance has continued since then to date. He has received his LL.B (Hons), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and LLM, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh both qualifications were received with excellence. In the UK Mr Hassan graduated from Wolverhampton University in 2005 with LL.B (Hons)
Professional Qualification
Mr Hassan was admitted as an Advocate on the Roll of the Bangladesh Bar Council in 1993. In January 1995 he was permitted to practice in the High Court Division of the Supreme of Court of Bangladesh and in 1995 he became a member of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association. As he was passionate about this he continued to practise as an advocate, working with distinguished legal personalities, such as Mr Justice AK Bodrul Haque, who later went on to become a judge. Having gained much practical knowledge, he decided he wanted to establish his own practice in Bangladesh. In March 2005, Mr Hassan has expertise in various Laws in the Legal field including Immigration, Judicial Review and Property and he was accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker under Law Society Panel. In 2007 he was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales.

He has received further recognition for his outstanding work as a Legal advisor in the Law clinics that he is part of and for all the free advice he has given to those deserving community members.
Work Experience
Mr Hassan has over 25 Years’ experience in the legal field here in the UK and Bangladesh. He has expertise in the following fields; Asylum, Immigration, Human Rights, Nationality, Commercial Conveyancing and family matters. He also has substantial experience in the fields of Judicial Review and other Judicial Matters. Mr Hassan enjoys being an advocate at Immigration and Asylum Tribunal and family Court. His extensive knowledge stems from the introduction of law to him from a young age. He started his career with his late father and he then joined with Late Justice A K Bodrul Hoque.
Subsequently after many years of happily practicing in Bangladesh Mr Hassan felt that he wanted to broaden his knowledge and gain skills and experience in the British Legal System, and he decided to move to the UK. He worked for many distinguished UK Solicitors Practice, such as Silvers Solicitors, Noden & Co, GMG Law, Patrick Solicitors, Jacob Solicitors and Srinivasan’s Solicitors. Mr Hassan was head of the Immigration department in Silvers Solicitors and Patricks Solicitors. Armed with his considerable expertise and knowledge on many areas of Law, in 2011, he applied to start his own practise, with permission to do so being granted in January 2012.
Recognised Personality
He is a recognised figure in the Local Community, known for his accessibility and understanding, and he often appears on Live TV programs on channels such as ION TV, TV 1, and NTV, where he gives general advice on live shows. Mr Hassan is the presenter and host of the live legal show called Aine o Adhikar with MQ Hassan in NTV Europe His proficiency in the Legal Sector is well recognised by other legal practitioners, and has earned him the honour of being elected as Vice President of the Society of British –Bangladeshi Solicitors, for two terms consecutively. The last two terms he has received the highest vote which highlights his popularity and passion for the work that he does.
Contribution to BLA
Since Mr Hassan setting up his own practice in 2012, MQ Hassan Solicitors at 37 New Road, Whitechapel London E1 1HE he has been helping members of the BLA UK to build up their careers in the Legal profession. He feels truly privileged to have helped more than 16 BLA UK members who have been involved in his practice. Some are still working with him and some have branched out either into their own practice or other employment. Mr Hassan hold’s very positive relationships with them all and he is truly happy in each of their success. His true aim is to be the bond maker between senior and junior members of the BLA UK and he wishes to make an undivided and united BLA UK. It is Mr Hassan’s strong belief that the BLA UK will prosper under his guidance, propelled by his sincere ambition, passion and vision for the organisation. Mr Hassan is extremely passionate and has always given up his free time in developing the organisation. Since Mr Hassan has been elected as President of the BLA UK he has been committed to inclusion for all and decentralisation.

Mr Hassan believe’s that it is important to be a well-rounded individual with the ability to see things from different perspectives. Although he has many years legal and life experience he loves to listen to younger and senior alike and take on their opinions. He feels that everybody has a voice and that everybody should be given a chance and be listened to. He would therefore categorically advocate respect and expect respect in return. Mr Hassan is a polite, self-motivated and highly organised individual and although he is a complete professional he likes to make others feel comfortable and try and be cheerful and jovial.
