About Me
meet Mohammed Quamrul Hassan
Our principal solicitor and compliance officer, Mr Mohammad Quamrul Hassan has extensive knowledge and expertise in the legal sector, learnt from a lifetime of experience and variety.
Born in the Jessore District of Bangladesh, Mr Hassan hails from a family of lawyers. His father was a well-known Lawyer in Bangladesh, as is his Brother in Law. Having learnt many things from his relatives, it was only natural that Mr Hassan would follow in their footsteps. Thus on completing college, he enrolled at the University of Dhaka where he successfully completed his LL.B and LL.M degrees.
Upon his graduation, Mr Hassan went into the family business, completing his pupillage with his father. He then went on to become an advocate in the High Court division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Mr Hassan continued to practise as an advocate ,working with distinguished legal personalities, such as Mr Justice AK Bodrul Haque, who later went on to become a judge. Having gained much practical knowledge, Mr Hassan proceeded to establish his own practice in Bangladesh.
Seeing further potential to develop himself, Mr Hassan proceeded to move to the UK to embark on a course of further study. To familiarise himself with the English Legal System, he undertook an LL.B degree at the University of Wolverhampton, and upon its completion gained authorisation to become a solicitor of England and Wales. Armed with his considerable expertise and knowledge on many areas of Law, in 2011, Mr Hassan applied to start his practise, with permission to do so being granted in January 2011.
As the principal solicitor of his own firm, Mr Hassan and his dedicated team are able to assist clients on a number of matters. He has been advising and representing clients in immigration law for over 11 years and his experience covers every aspect of immigration law e.g. Managed Migration under the Points Based System, European Union Law, General Immigration, Human Rights Law and Asylum. He also represents clients at the First-tier Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal.
Mohammed Quamrul Hassan also specialises in advocacy at all immigration appeal hearings, which includes asylum, human rights, visa appeals, deportation and reconsideration hearings in both First Tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal of Immigration and Asylum Chamber.
He specialises in all aspects of business immigration and nationality law and has outstanding expertise on the points based system and Family Migration Appendix FM and EX1 and also investor applications. Extensive experience in discretionary applications .His clients are drawn from all sectors, from multinational corporations to entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals.
In addition, Mohammed Quamrul Hassan also specialises in family law. His practice covers all aspects of family work, including divorce/dissolutions, ancillary relief and cohabitation law. He is particularly interested in cases involving both family and immigration law, for example in residence and contact cases where either a parent or the child does not have immigration status.
He has also been qualified under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme at Level 2 since 2005. This qualification allows him to specialise in immigration & nationality law and provide specialist legal help for publicly funded work under the Legal Services Commission franchise. As a practitioner Mr Hassan also has substantial experience in the fields of Judicial Review and other Judicial Matters.
He has worked for many distinguished UK firms, such as Silvers Solicitors, where he was the head of the immigration department, Noden & Co, GMG Law, Patrick Solicitors, and Jacob Solicitors.
His experience, dedication, and skills are matched only by his commitment to excellence. He has the compassion and understanding to fully help each client. He is aware of the many questions and uncertainties associated with being involved in the legal system. As such, he takes the time to fully explain the process to his clients and answer any questions that they or their families may have.
He is a recognised figure in the Local Community, known for his accessibility and understanding, and often appears on Live TV programs on channels such as ATN Bangla, Channel 9, and NTV, where he gives general advice. His proficiency in the Legal Sector is well recognised by other legal practitioners, and this has earned him the honour of being elected as the Vice President of the Society of Bangladeshi Solicitors, and the Bangladesh Law Association, UK.
Outside of work Mohammed Quamrul Hassan enjoys cooking, travelling, watching TV news and is a massive football fan of Chelsea.
He loves art and classical music, and supports labour party and various charities. He can speak Bengali, Urdu and Hindi fluently.
